We all piled in the family truckster loaded down with snacks and DVDs and started out for Wetumpka. The ride was uneventful with the two little ones falling asleep for a portion of the ride and Tucker totally into Nemo for the 1,000th time. When we arrived, Mama had to feed the little one, so the other two and I went to get our tickets. When she got done, we headed in. This zoo is actually really nice. We saw monkeys, flamingos, lions, tigers, bears (oh my!), zebras, deer, elk, giraffes, kangaroo, a cheetah, and much more.
The lunch area overlooks several of the animal areas which provided a great view and great entertainment. We were able to watch the giraffes eat at the same time as us as well as watch the lions sleep.
After lunch, we rode the train around the zoo which was big fun for the kids. We got to see some things that we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. After this, we finished walking around and decided it was time to head home. After a brief sweep through the gift shop, we loaded back up just in time for Mama to feed David again and then pointed south. It was a great day and I think the kids enjoyed it...Tucker especially.
