Memorial Day 2010

Momma and I took the kids to the lake for Memorial Day. I think it was the first time our family of 6 (counting Sam) had gone to the lake by ourselves for a weekend. We had a great time. Russ and CJ came for the day on Saturday, but other than that, it was just us. The rain chased us inside Saturday and Sunday afternoons, but it was at the right time. Its always easier to get the kids to go in for lunch and naps if it is thundering.

We swam, made drip castles, dug holes in the sand and made a trench that would float mini sailboats all the way from the castle to the lake when water was added. Tucker jumped of the dock and wanted to be thrown over and over. Houston was still a little cautious, which was fine because he still has tubes in and can't be submerged without his earplugs, which he doesn't like to wear.

When we weren't in the water, we were playing video games, watching TV or playing with any number of the vintage toys leftover from when I was a kid playing inside at the lake. It was a great time which we couldn't figure out why we didn't do more of.
