Tucker's 7th birthday

Even though we don't watch the Amazing Race any more, Momma and I decided it would be a neat idea to do a scavenger hunt/task themed/race for Tucker's birthday party. Once everyone got to the party, we divided the kids into two teams. Momma took one team and I took the other. The teams were charged with tasks of shooting a basketball, throwing a football, digging in the sandbox for pennies, carrying water in a spoon to fill up a cup and climbing in the tree house and sliding down the slide 10 times. Once they completed each task, the team would get a lego piece and part of the directions. The winning team was decided by who got all the lego pieces together first. In a photo finish, Tucker's team won because the other team's set fell apart as they were yelling finished. We served chicken fingers, grapes and then turned them loose for "free play". The kids had such a good time and some of them even commented on his party last year. I guess, sometimes even tightly budgeted birthday parties are fun.

It was also a big year for gifts. Mostly because he got a bb gun which he has been wanting for a year or so. See slideshow for the pics.
