We kept all of our new traditions going this Christmas. The first being a family trip to the Waffle House for dinner after selecting our Christmas tree. The second is a fish fry on Christmas Eve with Jennie's parents followed by the opening of pajamas for everyone from Gigi and then the playing of a family game. Then, Daddy reads Twas the Night Before Christmas and the boys head to bed. One tradition we did break is we did not go see Santa at the Country Club this year, opting for the mall instead. This worked out pretty well and the boys enjoyed it just as much I think. The Santa was great to the boys and explained to me that he liked to spend at least 1 minute with each child.
The kids had a great time getting together with all their cousins over the holidays. We even got to see our out of town cousins from Birmingham. As for the actual day, they were somewhat subdued during the day which was a little surprising. The two little ones didn't even put up a fight when we said it was nap time. It was almost as if they wanted it. Tucker was a little disappointed Santa didn't bring him a pocket knife or an Xbox even though I assured him Santa was not bringing those items and to not get his hopes up.
Some of the highlights were Wall-E, a lite brite, sleeping bags, Mario Cart for the Wii and Houston's favorite, M&Ms.
