New Years

This year, instead of going somewhere exotic like Las Vegas or Tokyo for New Years, we decided to go to the lake with Jordan and Harrison and all of our kids. We also had the Parrish's for one night and the McRae's for NYE. Although we weren't in some ritzi resort, we did eat like we were. The menu was highlighted by a low country boil and beef kabobs. Not too much excitement other than that though. Spending NYE with 4 kids (3 under 18 months) and 3 dogs (we had Gigi and Papa's Eby with us and the McRae's brought Ricky Martin as well) makes you really think hard about staying up late. However, after watching Auburn win the Chick-fil-A bowl and a few board games in front of the fire, we did all make it to the final bell and a little after. Tucker even got up for the big event. Although, that might have had more to do with the fact he was burning up and had to throw up than it did with him wanting to watch the ball drop. Yep, confirmed this morning at the doctor, he had come down with the dreaded strep throat. Poor little guy. The picture is what he looked like when we got home Tuesday afternoon. He was sacked out all day. On the road to recovery though. He felt good enough to eat Fruit Loops for dinner (I had to make a special trip to groc for him), so I guess he is going to make it.

Overall, it was a great NYE as the many I have spent at Silver Lake have been. We might even do it again next year...

Taking Tucker and Emmett to their first AU Basketball game this Sunday so check back for pictures.
