Houston's 4th birthday

For Houston's 4th birthday party, we decided it would be fun to go bowling.  Jennie had taken the boys recently and they really liked it.  So, what could be more fun than a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds running around with 6-8 pound bowling balls.........

Turns out, if you want to have a birthday party at Dothan Lanes on a Friday afternoon, you have the place to yourself.  They also have a pretty good party package, if you aren't really interested in cleanliness or new construction.  We just took a tub of wipes and focused on the kids.

They played games, bowled with the help of ramps, bumpered lanes and some patient adults, ate cake and ice cream and even all got to sign the souvenir bowling pin that comes with your package (I really wanted this for myself).  We even had a couple kids make spares.  Note to self, one game was enough bowling for everybody.  In fact, 1/2 a game was enough for the birthday boy.

The theme this year, as you will see from the pics was Bolt.  Houston loves that little dog and wanted a Bolt cake no matter what.  He also got a Bolt stuffed animal to sleep with.  He said he had a great birthday, but has mentioned several times since he doesn't want to be 4.  I am sure he will come around though.
