Thursday evening update

As planned, David was totally weaned from the oxygen and Jennie fed him for the first time around 11am. We both got to hold him and he got a bath (see picture below). He was then moved to the "well baby" nursery and she fed him again in there around 1:30. He ate like there was no tomorrow...25-30 minutes both times. All of his "levels" stayed good and around 3:15pm, he got to move into the room for good with only his i.v. which will hopefully come out tonight. She fed him again and since then, he has just been sleeping and getting passed around by all the visitors.

No official word from the doctor about when we might be able to go home, but if we stick to what they said yesterday, we should be able to go around lunchtime or a little after. Anything before that would be a surprise. Jennie just called me to let me know they just came and got him to take him for a bath and to check his weight. She said they mentioned doing the circumcision in the morning. If they do that, they want to watch him for 4 to 6 hours afterwards and then he can go if everything is all ok. I am headed back for another night's "sleep" on the pleather pull-out couch. We'll find out what kind of a sleeper David is tonight because now that we have him, I don't think Momma is going to let him go anywhere.
